Bremen, 28 October 2021 - Energiekontor AG has sold the Stopfenheim solar park with a total output of around 7.5 MW to the Stadtwerke Heidenheim AG group of companies.
The solar park is being built at the Stopfenheim site in the central Franconian district of Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen, around 50 km south of Nuremberg, and is scheduled to go into operation at the end of the fourth quarter of the current year.
The Stopfenheim solar park successfully participated in the EEG tender of 1 September 2020 and thus secured an attractive remuneration in the tender period at that time. In the future, it is expected to generate an average of 8 million kilowatt hours per year. This amount of electricity is mathematically sufficient to cover the needs of about 2,700 German households and at the same time corresponds to a saving of about 8,400 tonnes of CO2 compared to energy generation in a conventional power plant.
Peter Szabo, CEO of Energiekontor AG, expresses his satisfaction: "Our solar activities are increasingly contributing to the overall success of the company. A quarter of our well-filled project pipeline now consists of solar projects. With the Stopfenheim solar park, we are extending our track record in the number of realised solar parks to a good dozen. Not least because of our extensive experience, the sales process with Stadtwerke Heidenheim AG - group of companies was professional, highly efficient and based on partnership."
Dieter Brünner, CEO of Stadtwerke Heidenheim, comments pleased: "With the purchase and commissioning of the Stopfenheim solar park, our own generation capacities in the field of renewable energies grow to almost 200 MW."
